1978 O'Day 25 Centerboard Sailboat

The boat

This 1978 O’Day 25 centerboard sailboat has spent its life in freshwater: Lake Michigan, a private Michigan lake, and Lake Tahoe since 2020. The hull and deck have no soft spots. The boat has been dry-stored on its trailer when not in the water.

It needs cleaning, a mast-base repair or replacement, and reinstallation of the included labelled rigging. The mast is straight. The sale includes a large selection of sails, including Mylar sails, along with rigging and the equipment agreed with the buyer.

Known project

The mast-base plug and its plate were bent during setup. The damaged fitting is shown in the gallery. Replacement parts are available for this model; buyers should confirm the needed parts and repair method during inspection.

Cabin and plumbing

The cabin retains its original layout and cushions. The original toilet and freshwater tank were removed, leaving the area open for a buyer’s preferred modern replacements.
